From the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

Medal ceremony, Cross-country, hockey final, closing ceremony and the start of the Olympic blues!

My bloging has been a bit sporadic the past few Days, it's been tough to find time to be honest. I know that must sound a bit crazy, we have actually all the time in the world but it has been non-stop for 2 Days now. From one activity to another with a bit of sleep in between!
The medal ceremony for the curling was the emotional, impressive and inspriring. There was such a mixture of sheer joy, satisfaction and even relief - putting 4 years (or more) of your life into a project that only lasts 17days is quite an undertaking and I can't think of anything else in life that is comparable.
Many congratualtions to all the medal winners in curling!
The next morning we left early to drive to the Endurance Village for the first time to Watch the  mens 50km cross country skiing. The road up was comparable to something you would find in the alps and the endurance village was on the opposite side of the valley to the Alpine events - from our seats on the main stand we had a great view across the valley
Here is a Picture of the start of the 50km
The conditions were tough for the skiers but great for the specatators! Our boy Martin Moller did well, all things considered and he has happy with his race. As for the result - lets just say, he didn't win!
Back down to the coast again for the hockey final - Denmark had one ticket for the final which Troels won by answering the Danish Daily Olympic quiz! His seat was in the middle of Canadian and Swedish altheltes which meant a good atmoshpere!
For the rest of us, we had to settle for an afternoon infront of the TV
Between the 2nd and 3rd periods, Johhny, Mette and I Went to get some nutrition to keep the sqaud going for the closing ceremony.
The closing ceremony was once again spectacular even though many parts were similar. At the end of the ceremony they raised a DJ out of the floor and invited all the atheltes and volunteers to come down on to the floor and party! It was great - all nations mixing together enjoying great house Music and having a great time - there were even several conga-lines!!!
The march in where everyone Marches together in a big Group with no national boundaries.
The Russian state circus was phenomenal!
The end of the offical ceremony.
Down on the floor afterwards I met my old team mate Viktor Kjäll - Viktor and his team have work extremly hard over the past 6 seasons and he/they really deserve this medal.
DJ getting the party started in the Olympic Arena! MEGA!
Behind the scenes after the ceremony with the skiing rabbit!
The day after the closing the bubble starts to slowly burst and it marks the start of the Olympic blues! We had to check in the bags at 0830 this morning. This was exceptional - we gave our bags and passports to our representative Martin then 1 hours later we get the passports and a boarding card back all checked in without leaving the village! That's service! Now we have 4 hours to kill Before leaving for the Airport.
We leave the luggage in the village - it gets packed into a van and hopefully we get it at the other end!!
Martin is incharge!
So I have one more blog, a summary. I will try to do this tomorrow or later today or on the flight...or sometime soon!
My final blog from the Olympic village!
